Gagnier Communications (GC) is a strategic PR & IR agency, serving clients across North America, Europe and Asia. We are based in New York City.
The GC Managing Partners each have over two decades of industry experience. The team has led numerous corporate positioning and investor relations programs and has been actively involved in numerous special situations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia.
From senior counsel through to implementation of full-scale communications and investor relations programs, GC has assisted clients in critical assignments covering high-profile positioning assignments, shareholder activism, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, litigation and other complex situations.
Daniel Gagnier has worked on numerous corporate positioning programs and actively managed a variety of special situations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia. These include proxy contests and shareholder activism, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, IPOs, litigation and various other complex situations. His work spans a multitude of industries including financial services and hedge funds, metals and mining, consumer products, oil and gas, pharma/biotech, cannabis, technology and industrial manufacturing. Prior to founding GC in 2016, Mr. Gagnier was a Partner and Managing Director at Sard Verbinnen & Co. Prior to joining SVC in 2000, Mr. Gagnier was an Account Coordinator in the Financial Communications division of GPC Canada Inc.
Mr. Gagnier holds a B.A. degree with honors in Political Studies from Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec.
Jeffrey Mathews has advised numerous clients on corporate positioning, special situations and investor relations, drawing on his experience as a corporate investor relations officer, head of corporate strategy and development, and as a technology start-up founder, CEO and CFO. His work in strategic communications and IR spans mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, spin-offs, proxy contests and multiple earnings- and crisis-related financial issues in the media, pharma/biotech, healthcare, cannabis, tech, consumer, energy and financial services industries. Prior to joining GC in 2017, Mr. Mathews led IR, corporate strategy and business development for Scholastic. He also was a Principal at Sard Verbinnen & Co., and previously founded two technology start-ups in the education and marketing sectors.
Dr. Mathews holds an A.B. in Biology from Princeton University, and a Ph.D. in Biology from Oxford University.
Erin Passan has played a key role in multiple corporate positioning, product/company launch and crisis management situations, both as a strategic advisor and as chief communications officer, in the financial services, asset management, real estate, cannabis and consumer sectors. Prior to joining GC, she was Senior Vice President and Head of Communications and Content at Janus Henderson, where she was responsible for public relations, advertising, content and social media. She was previously lead corporate communications for Farmers Group, Inc. and TCW. She has also held communications positions at Piper Jaffray, Robertson Stephens and Bank of America.
Ms. Passan has a M.B.A. from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and a B.A. in business management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California. From 2007 to 2010, she served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.
